NEW ENERGY-EFFICIENT WINDOWS JUST BECAME MORE AFFORDABLE!

Investing in energy efficient windows and doors in Edmonton is always a good decision when renovating your home. Innovative technologies such as triple-pane Low-E glass not only keep your home quiet and peaceful, but also retain heat, which can save you a lot on costly utility bills, which is especially important in Alberta’s harsh climate.

However, the most common deterrent to not investing in high-performance windows is the initial cost of the products. Canglow has developed an extensive rebate program to reduce the cost of energy efficient windows and doors for residents of Edmonton and surrounding cities – St. Albert, Nisku, Sherwood Park, Acheson, Beaumont, Devon, Spruce Grove, Villeneuve, Fort Saskatchewan…

Starting in 2021, the City of Edmonton is offering energy efficiency rebates to all homeowners. The City of Edmonton has launched a rebate program to encourage more energy-efficient homes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

If you’re looking to upgrade insulation, windows, furnaces or water heaters, you may be eligible for the rebate program. First, through the Home Energy Retrofit Accelerator (HERA), homeowners must complete the federal home EnerGuide evaluation before applying.

Energy efficiency work on homes must be completed and applications submitted after the program start date and within 18 months of the program start date (excluding the rebate for retrofitting to net-zero). According to the City’s Energy Efficiency Transition Project Manager, the average subsidy will be about $1,500.

Canglow Energy Efficient Products

How exactly can Canglow help? With our huge selection of windows and doors, we will not only ensure that your home is fitted with the very best brands of energy saving products, but we will also switch to our energy saving products, making you eligible for our rebate program.

If you are considering replacing your windows or doors to qualify for a rebate, it’s important to research your home’s needs. Windows, doors, and skylights can be responsible for up to 35% of energy loss in your home. By carefully examining the specifications of Canglow energy efficient windows and doors, you can significantly reduce heat and energy loss in your home while helping to reduce our city’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Here is a list of some of our energy-efficient products that can help you towards the home energy retrofit rebate:

Triple-pane windows

Not only do our carefully-crafted windows provide a beautiful addition and excellent airflow throughout your home, but our wide selection of windows options, from casement to bay and more, have a variety of options to help you retain the energy in your home and save you money on utilities.

Argon gas-filled windows

At Canglow, we appreciate that Alberta can be a cold place for much of the year. That is why we offer many innovative window technologies to help insulate your home and retain heat.

In addition to triple-pane options for GreenFox windows, we also offer optional Low E glass with two 1/2″ air spaces between the panes for argon gas fill. This enhanced glass option offers improved thermal performance and UV protection.

Argon is the gas most often used between panes in a window due to it being denser than regular air thus providing more thermal efficiency. Low emissivity, or Low-E glass, has a transparent coating that reflects infrared energy. Therefore, when the heat in your home tries to escape to the colder outside during the winter, the low-e coating reflects the heat back to the inside, reducing heat loss through the glass.

Insulated doors

Windows aren’t the only place your home can lose precious thermal energy. Improperly installed, insulated, or thin doors can let in cold air from Alberta’s chilly winters and let your warm air out. If applying for the Edmonton rebate program is your goal, there are energy-efficient door technologies that can help.

Many of our door brands offer additional glass types and other energy-saving options, such as decorative doors made with a flexible U-shaped silicone foam strip that wraps around and cushions the central decorative panel. With a vapor barrier backing, these doors provide superior silicone foam insulation and low thermal conductivity.
